Red Dead Redemption 2 is the latest installment by Rockstar Games, It is a sequel in comparison with the original Red Dead Redemption video game. Red Dead Redemption takes you back to the wild west, introducing the classic era with breathtaking visuals and outstanding game-play. The wild experience applies you to the role of a classical outlaw.
The outlaw you play as is Arthur Morgan an associate and high rank in Dutch Van Der Linde’s Gang. Arthur is a rather unique protagonist due to his interesting personality which consists of humor, aggression, and empathy so you never know what his next move is.
With Arthur Morgan at the other end of your controls, you have choices that can be decided by you and acted upon by Arthur. Rockstar Games presents us with a choice system that can impact the way you play and what you may face in your future travels. Choose wisely, because you are still accompanied by the honor aspect from the original Red Dead Redemption which is introduced to you the first time you perform a good or bad deed.
Characters are loveable
The Characters in Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games has put great effort into the characters in the game which we give to Rockstar Games “Best Character Development” The Characters in Red Dead Redemption 2 feels alive throughout the game, which will make the players have emotional feelings to the characters. Storytelling is Attractive
Red Dead Redemption 2 Story takes you to the depth of how the Dutch Van Der Linde gang evolves to become one of the most dangerous outlaw community in 1899. Rockstar Games has made a ton of story missions for each gang member for you to play in the world of America, after you activate a story mission, you get a cinematic cutscenes with a letterbox on the screen which looks like you are watching a movie, Rockstar Games by far has given the best cutscenes in Red Dead Redemption 2 which builds up the excitement. Storytelling in Red Dead Redemption 2 is very attractive for players to explore and to enjoy and you can never lose track of the plot. Rockstar Games gives players some shocking moments and interesting moments that links up to the first game in the story of Red Dead Redemption 2. The story has kept us happy and overjoyed with that there is great content in the story that keeps the players entertained.
The setting is Groundbreaking!
Rockstar Games Setting in Red Dead Redemption 2 has delivered the most beautiful graphics in Rockstar Games history, The world in the game is so exquisite with best environment elements with wildlife, Day and Night Cycle, Random Events that you will find roaming in the open world of Red Dead Redemption 2,
Random Events & Wildlife
You can find exploring the world, aggressive bandits that halt you to surrender in the open, friendly strangers who might need help from you but be warned that some strangers have tricks up the sleeve and could either try to kill you or steal from you. But it’s not just the strangers you will find, you will run into dangerous wildlife predators who will try to kill you on your road journey.
The Weather System in Red Dead Redemption 2 has given us “wow” Moments in the game, the rain system is so well done with that you will sometimes get rain and wind combined together from real life storms, plus you will experience Lightning strikes that have the scariest sound effects just like the real lightning. You also get sunny days and cloudy days, and of course snow storms.
Rockstar Games aims to put different changes for the horses in Red Dead Redemption 2 from the first game, In this game Rockstar Games wants you to bond with your horse by feeding horses food, you will have go to the general store to buy food to refill your horse’s health and stamina bar.
Another feature for horse bonding, You have the ability to level up your horse by looking after your horse by brushing your horse to prevent losing horse health, The game will remind you to brush and care for your horse and by doing so, your horse bond level will increase and after you level up, your horse will have some new controls features each time you level up.
The next thing about the horses in Red Dead Redemption 2 is how riding your horse in the world turns out, first of all riding your horse to locations to another is classic and enjoyable as the first game, but both of us have seen the physics of the horse is Class A good, while riding our horses in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Lastly, we have experienced some horse collision to objects and environment objects where we accidentally crash to someone horse or a wagon or trees. We find this funny at the first encounter but the more we crashed to things randomly we sometimes feel frustrated and annoyed when colliding into things.
The Game-play is Endless!
Red Dead Redemption 2 is stunning in the way it plays. You are fully immersed whether you are saddling up, unleashing your sidearm, or taking a bath (cool right?). Truly though, Red Dead Redemption 2 has turned the tables for a much more immersive experience allowing the player to do pretty much anything they wish with hardly any boundaries.
The game-play usually ranges from participating in mini-game activities like poker and the classic five finger fillet to an aggressive shootout consisting of elaborated dead-eye. Or… you could get crazy drunk which turns out to be a fight instead of a social call.
Red Dead Redemption 2’s game-play is mostly combat situations, you can utilize firearms such as; pistols, revolvers, repeaters, shotguns, and rifles. Or you can get physical with melee weapons like the combat knife, hatchet, and cleaver (the hatchet and cleaver can be thrown) there are also throwables like throwing knives, tomahawks, fire bottles, and dynamite. The possible weapon combinations are endless.
A new addition that has been added to Red Dead Redemption 2’s combat system is stealth and it is used to counter enemies that are usually guarding something or completely off-guard in general. Stealth is a useful technique to use in Red Dead Redemption 2 because it gives you the benefit of the doubt and complete visual on the unaware enemy.
Using stealth means you will be using stealth catering weaponry like the knife which is used at close quarters for a quick silent kill, and the bow (new weapon added to the franchise of Red Dead Redemption) used for quick ranged elimination, also silent. Throwables like the tomahawk and throwing knife are also available for a stealth approach.
Deadeye was a great addition to the first installment of Red Dead Redemption, so why not bring the great mechanic back? Rockstar decided that it wasn’t just John Marston who holds the legendary accuracy of firearms. Arthur Morgan also holds this magnificent ability to annihilate folk left right and center but with a twist… now you have the ability to view an opponent’s weak points which are highlighted in red, and you can stay in deadeye to take out targets manually with free aim. However, the classic dead eye remains with the ability to pinpoint targets on an opponent for that great flare we still love today!
The Wonderful Atmosphere…
Red Dead Redemption 2 shows off its true colors in style. There is honestly no remorse when you are progressing through the immersive atmosphere because there is always something Arthur encounters. Whether it’s killing a legendary animal or just a common chat it doesn’t seem to stop, it’s like Arthur is famous for coming across these random events.
There are endless possibilities due to the whole atmosphere bringing you much to explore and a lot of coincident encounters just to add a more calm and a less lonely approach to Arthur’s existence in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. Bringing me the conclusion that Red Dead Redemption 2 provides the player with much to do whilst balancing the way it is conveyed across to the player, it’s amazing how it lives up to the expectation of how open world games should be presented – active, interesting, and eventful.
Story Driven Side-content
Red Dead Redemption 2 has delivered interesting side content of missions for making gameplay longer and giving some storytelling and dialogue to each character that gives you curiosity. Some side missions carry on for each NPC character in Red Dead Redemption 2 after you complete a side mission you will run into them again by getting a pop up on the map or randomly have a “stranger ?” mission while roaming around the map on Red Dead Redemption 2. Doing strangers missions gets us to check out on what the side missions are going to show us with that the writing in the game is so good it brings our attention to what side mission is about.
But also it’s not just the strangers missions, Arthur’s gang members have their little missions for checking out, the missions can be robbing, finishing, collecting debts, and collecting items for gang members, finding and doing gang members own missions is entertaining to do and with dialogue extremely good for the gang members, you won’t be disappointed to do the gang members missions.
The Hunt is on!
Just like in Red Dead Redemption (Original) you have the ability to hunt animals for their pelt, the difference is you can’t pick up the whole carcass like in Red Dead Redemption 2. The hunting is a big part of Red Dead Redemption 2 because Rockstar Games have specifically given you the appropriate hunting tools which can be used to retrieve better pelt. However, some animals come in different types of quality when they are alive too, so make sure you identify the animal before taking the shot as you might end up with a puddle of blood with a side of pesky flies.
The weapons which can be used well in hunting is the new addition which is the bow, the bow is used for small to medium-sized animals for a quiet approach when hunting for their pelt or whole carcass. The bow comes with variations of arrows that impact the animal differently which can be crafted. Let’s take the small game arrow, for instance, this type of arrow can kill a small animal whilst keeping its essentials intact like it’s pelt and full carcass.
Other weapons like the Varmint Rifle is a handy hunting weapon of choice for taking out medium to small animals. You can utilize anything you want but I would advise that you view the animal’s description to reveal the weapon that will work best for retrieving the best quality of pelt. You can then sell the pelt which varies from high value, medium value, and low value depending on the quality of the animal you killed.
The Tracking Ability
Added within the hunting system is the ability to track embedded prints in the ground. Arthur has an ability which allows him to analyze the general area for tracking animals. The tracking shows as a line which glows towards the direction the animal was moving, giving you the chance to see where it headed.
Once you have followed the recent tracks, the animal should be close by with sense waves to indicate where it is. Arthur also has sense waves produced from his body which point in the direction the wind is blowing, if the sense wave angles to the direction of a close by an animal, the animal will flee because you have alerted them of your presence.
Embedded Fishing Simulator
Fishing is another big addition to Red Dead Redemption 2 because it is the calm version of hunting, you should try it. The recommendation is that you develop patience when fishing because those little swimmers sure do pack some strength on the line, and when they do bite it’s usually after 5 minutes of waiting around. When fishing, you have the ability to attach any bait you own, each bait has a description stating what the bait will most likely attract in terms of small, medium, and large fish so you can determine which fish you want by attaching the desired bait.
Legendary fish are also featured amongst these variations of fish but they are the hardest to catch and require special lures in order to actually catch them. But as well as hunting, you can either choose to keep the fish to sell it to the butcher or you can chuck the fish back into the water for an honorable action.
Rockstar Games has brought back the same composer from the first game “Woody Jackson” with his Wild West soundtracks for Red Dead Redemption 2 with another composer to make the soundtrack awesome from the first game. Each soundtrack in Red Dead Redemption 2 are attracting to listen through, while exploring the world you have a calm atmosphere music when riding your horse to locations in the game, action-oriented music in combat gameplay makes gunplay a lot better, some soundtracks can get you into a good mood and it has for the both of us.
